My older son recently celebrated his second birthday just days after his little bro turned 2 months.  My how the time flies!

I can't believe how fast they are both growing and how much they learn and change every day!  I'm so thankful that I get to be here with them to experience it all, even though it can definitely be trying at times!

I wanted to get a picture to commemorate this special time so I set up this chalk board on the ground for them to lay on.  Usually in the morning when they get up they like to cuddle and lay on the ground next to each-other (a-DOR-able!), but of course my 2-year-old wasn't going for it that day when I asked him to lay next to his brother.  I decided to resort to bribery (it was his birthday) so I offered him a chocolate cookie (not my normal breakfast offering).  The cookie did entice him to stay fairly still for about 15 seconds... and lucky for me, he ended up spitting out the entire cookie in my hand!  Fun times!

Yep, that's the candle from his birthday cake.  I think it's pretty fitting for a 2 year old.  Guess my little epicurean just wanted to see what it tastes like(?)  Sometimes I think he has really sophisticated taste since he loves to eat things like kalamata olives and stinky cheese... then I'll see him eat dirt (which occurs more often than I would like to admit) and I realize that he just eats anything!

Love my silly sweet boys!

Awww, what a sweet way to commemorate such a special day for your boys! And I love that your oldest took a bite out of his candle…I guess it did kind of look like candy. :-)
