We have been having a lot of fun with the train table in my son's big boy bedroom and I thought of a way to have even more fun with it... I turned it into a chalk table too!  This project took about 10 minutes and $4 worth of materials and we have already had a lot of fun playing with it.  It is a great learning tool too.

I took off the boards that make up the top of the table, flipped them over, and set them on my spray-paint tarp.
I applied about 3 coats Krylon spray chalkboard paint and let it dry for a few hours.
I put the boards back, and voila, we have a chalk table!
I like drawing letters and numbers to talk about with him.
We also draw roads for his trucks to drive on.
Okay, maybe he likes the trucks better than the chalk table sometimes.
