One of my favorite things about living in the DFW area is fall at the Dallas Arboretum.  We may not have the breathtaking fall foliage like New England, but we have a stunning fall display with more pumpkins than you could ever imagine!
No matter what time of year I go to the Arboretum I either feel really inspired to go make my own beautiful creations or really hopeless that mine could never compare to theirs!
I wanted to share some of my favorite pumpkin decorating ideas I saw at the Arboretum to hopefully inspire you to try some out!
All of the main walk-ways are lined with pumpkins!  I love this little pumpkin garden with the stacked pumpkins!
There is a large "Pumpkin Village" with several houses made out of pumpkins, wonderful for the kiddos!
Perfect backdrop for a little baby smooching!
I love how they use pumpkins to create mosaic artwork on the ground.  Maybe I'll do that to my front yard (ha)!
This is one of my favorite fall decorating ideas there... gourd and corn chandelier!  Now maybe I could really do something like that at my house, on a much smaller scale of course!
I also loved how they made pumpkin garlands and wrapped them around trees.
This one even has little pumpkins hanging from the tree branch too!
Here's another great idea for decorating with pumpkins-- use them to decorate a fence (they are held on with wires).
They also decorated with a lot of hay bales... which are perfect for burying your little brother in hay...
...or burying yourself in hay (that was in the hay maze).
You might notice by our clothes that we have been there *twice* already and it has been open *two* weeks.
Also at the Dallas Arboretum right now is a breath-taking Chihuly glass artwork show.  I could go on and on about that too but that would be another post... all I can say is go see it if you can, WOW!
