I guess you might have already noticed that I am a sucker for handprint/footprint art made by my little guy. I am blown away by how fast he grows and want to capture every step along the way!
This year for fathers day we made this adorablee footprint plaque. I think it turned out really cute and you will be amazed by how simple it is to make!
You will need:
a pre-cut piece of wood (mine is from Hobby Lobby)
1 piece of scrapbook paper (Hobby lobby as well)
Mod Podge
scissors
acrylic paint (I used Folk Art "coffee bean", "barnwood", and white)
white paint pen
paint brush
To get started, trace the front of the wood panel onto the back of the scrapbook paper and cut it out. Paint a layer of Mod Podge on the wood...
...and stick the paper to it.
Next, paint your child's foot white and stamp it on the paper. I couldn't take any pictures of myself doing this because I had to work really fast before he got paint everywhere! I kept him in his highchair so he wouldn't be able to escape and had a wet rag handy to wipe off the paint as soon as we were done.
Once the footprint is dry you can paint another layer of Mod Podge on top of the plaque. I also painted the sides of the wood brown and dry-brushed on some "barnwood" paint to make it look a little distressed.
When the Mod Podge is dry, the last step is to write the message using the white paint pen. That's all there is to it and now you have a cute keepsake for a great Dad!

This would also be really cute to put Dad’s footprint in white and baby’s on top of Dad’s in a different color. Could do this every year on paper to keep in a scrapbook!
