Recently at our PALS school  we got to learn about Dinosaurs!  We had a blast all week long doing all kinds of dinosaur games, art projects, and activities!

We started out coloring these "D is for Dinosaur" pages while I talked to the boys about Dinosaurs.

Then the boys painted some dinosaur appliques I had made.

When the paint dried, I ironed the appliques onto t-shirts for the boys (the tails wrap around to the back of the shirt).

I LOVE how these turned out!  My son loves to wear his dino shirt!

We talked about how paleontologists follow clues to learn about dinosaurs, and then the boys got to pretend like they were paleontologists going on a dino hunt!  They followed the clues (dinosaur footprints I cut out of grocery bags)....

...which led them to our neighbor's sand box!

They dug in the sand and found a bunch of dinosaurs (with a little help from another little paleontologist--- I totally dig those paleontologist hats!)

We brought the dinosaurs home and the boys got to play with them for a while in our new dinosaur sensory bin- with steel cut oats, pebbles from the dollar store, and fake plants!

Next it was time for a dinosaur puzzle I printed from the Free Dinosaur Pack at 3 Dinosaurs.

And a dinosaur counting game from 123 Homeschool 4 Me Dinosaur Pack

Later in the week I used the paper dinosaur footprints from our dinosaur hunt for another counting game.  I set out mini-dinos on the footprints and let my son count them and put the correct plastic number on each foot, then put all the footprints in numerical order.

We also made this "macaroni-saurus" the he loved!  I found the printables at PreKinders

We also went on a fun outing to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas.

And to wrap up our fun dinosaur week we took a very fun trip to the Heard Museum in McKinney!
