One of my son's favorite things we learned about for the letter "I" was insects, so I decided to make some fingerprint insects (and also because I love trying to capture time with his cute little fingerprints that get bigger all the time)!
Materials:
washable paint
paint brush
card-stock paper
black marker
I have to apologize for my lack of photos for the first steps of this process... I don't have enough hands to assist a toddler covered in paint while also photographing the ordeal, so you will have to use your imagination! All I can say is have a wet rag handy and have fun!
1. Paint your little one's hands and fingers and help them make prints on the paper.
(here's what ours looked like after his fingers had been wiped and the paint had been put safely out of reach)
2. Once the paint is dry, use the black marker to draw on wings, stripes, legs, antennae... (I looked at an insect book to get ideas).
