One of the words we learned about for letter K was king, so I decided to make a King Crown out of things we had in the pantry, craft-supply stash, and trashcan!
I've been surprised how well this hat has held up to all of his rough play (I learned my lesson with "H" is for hat!)!!

Materials:

cereal box

pasta

metallic spray paint

glitter glue

craft glue

funny foam

1.  I started by laying out the cereal box and pasta on my spray painting board.

2.  I gave it all a  couple coats of silver spray paint.

3. Once the paint was dry, I cut out the box so that one edge was flat and the opposite edge was a zig-zag (saving the extra cardboard and pasta for future projects).  I also cut some diamond-shapes out of the funny foam and set out all the materials for my son to decorate his crown.

4. He got to do some decorating!  He really liked the glitter glue.

5.  We glued on some of the silver pasta shapes.

6.  When he was done decorating, we set it aside to dry completely.  Then I measured it around his head and cut off the excess and glued it together to make a crown that fit on his head!  After some more drying time, it was ready to wear!
