One day while playing with our "Oat Play Tub" I decided to take advantage of the drop cloth and do a little painting and make a fun lion mask. We started by painting the plate yellow. (I apologize for the lack of pants... in the summertime we tend to wear less clothes as the day progresses and are usually down to just diapers by the time Daddy gets home... I don't see any point in putting on yet another clean outfit when I know it will just get messy and he would rather be naked).
Materials:
paper plate
washable yellow paint
paint brush
scissors
pencil
paper bag
glue
black marker
While the yellow paint was drying on the plate I cut some strips (approx 1/2"x4") out of a paper bag. I also cut out a nose.
I used a pencil to draw the eye-holes on the plate and then cut them out.
Then he helped me glue the strips of paper around the outer edge of the plate to create the mane.
Once it was dry I used the black marker to draw on a mouth and nostrils and it was ready to go!
Ahem, this was his first time playing with a mask so it took a little figuring out but now he loves to put it on and say "ROAR!"

Please don’t apologize for no pants! Little fellows are suppose to be semi-naked in the summertime in Texas! Besides, I think he’s cute (and I am NOT prejudice).
