It’s marker week here at Cheap Crafty Mama!  Yesterday I shared my Ultimate Guide to Markers and today I’m going to show you how to make these fun and adorable scribble shirts we just made with Tulip Neon Fabric Markers.  I have been inspired by all the cheerful neon crafts lately at i Love to Create and decided my boys needed some bright, cheery shirts  to chase away the dreary winter blues that we are getting so sick of!

My boys are really into dogs these days and half of the time they are pretending to be dogs (and I’m really wishing they would choose some more domesticated role-models but that’s another story).  I wanted to let them help make some cheery dog t-shirts for spring!

This project was inspired by some cute Initial T-shirts I saw at the Aesthetic Nest (they made theirs using freezer paper).  I made mine using contact paper because I happened to have some left-over from lining my cabinet shelves!

1.  First I found a silhouette of a dog online and printed it on card-stock.   I cut out the dog and then traced it onto contact paper.

2.  I used my X-act knife to cut out the dog shape.

4.  Then I let my little artists get busy coloring the dog.  I was afraid the markers might bleed under the contact paper or that it would come un-stuck but (even with their very energetic scribbling) we had no problems!

5.  When they were done scribbling we removed the contact paper and discovered the bright, adorable, one-of-a-kind dogs on their shirts, they were thrilled!

The boys both love their new dog shirts and I’m sure that they will get a lot of wear!
