For letter "P" we had fun learning about one of our family's favorite birds, the penguin!  We have always loved penguins and recently got to meet one at zoo school:
For our "P" craft we made penguins using the foot-prints of both of my boys, I just love the way the turned out!

black, white, and orange paint (I suggest washable paint)

paint brushes

googly eyes

1.  Paint black paint on your child's foot and press it onto a piece of paper.  I have found that the easiest way for me to do this is have the child sit in a chair (strapped to a high chair is best if that is an option) and put the paper on a cookie sheet and then put their foot on the paper where you want it to go.  This method works great for us but I obviously do not have a free hand to take pictures of it.

2.  Once the black paint is dry, use a small paintbrush (my triangle handle brush was given to me by www.craftprojectideas.com) to paint the white part of the penguin.
