My sweet hubby has an annual pumpkin decorating contest and he likes to talk a lot of smack with his co-workers about how our pumpkin will put all others to shame, so that means the pressure is on to create an amazing pumpkin! Of course this year the week leading up to the competition my toddler scratched my baby's eyeball, so he couldn't sleep more than 30 minutes at a time, which meant that I didn't get to sleep for more than 20 minutes at a time--- awesome. (By the way his eye is fine now but he decided he likes waking up multiple times a night to nurse--- awesome). Anywhoo, this is a serious pumpkin competition so is is more important than sleep.
This year he came up with the fabulous idea of making 3 pumpkins look like a layer wedding cake with a spooky bride and groom on top. This was a fun project to make with him!
I started by decorating the pumpkins with puff paint.
Then I set them out on my spray tarp...
...and covered them with white spray paint.
When they were dry they were looking pretty sweet but we had more in store for them!
I made some orange glitter flowers to go between the pumpkins by coating silk flowers in spray adhesive and sprinkling glitter on them.
My hubby spookified the bride and groom and turned them into a vampire and mummy!
We stacked all of our pumpkins to make this spooktacular wedding cake (with a little help from the hot glue gun).

Nice job on the pumpkins, Kate! They look so cool.
Thanks Trisha!
