We are finally starting to have some weather here below 90 degrees so it's really starting to feel like fall! Okay so it may not really feel like fall but at least I like to make my house feel like fall by cooking fall foods that make the house smell yummy and putting up cute fall and Halloween decor. For my latest fall project I used Mod Podge to create these cute, sneaky, spooky Halloween votives. During the day they look like cute fall decor, and when the lights go out they get a little wild and spooky!
I was SO excited to receive a box jam-packed with all these awesome Mod Podge products! It felt like Christmas came early and I know I will be using these a lot throughout the holiday season. I was seriously on a Mod Podge high for a few days thinking of all the awesome things I could create!
So lets get started with this fun project!
Materials:
glass jars
torn up newspaper
black construction paper
Mod Podge of your choosing
sponge brush
scissors
ribbons and decor for tops of jars
1. Cut some spooky eyes and mouth out of the black paper
2. Use a thin layer of Mod Podge to attach the eyes and mouth to the jar, then paint a layer of Mod Podge on top of the paper and allow it to dry (this will ensure that the black won't bleed through the newspaper)
3. Use Mod Podge to cover the whole jar with the torn up newspaper and also paint a layer of Mod Podge on top of the newspaper.
4. When the Mod Podge is dry, you can decorate the tops of the jars so they look pretty during the day, and then when the lights go out you can put candles inside the jars to see their true personalities!
