As a mother of 2 boys, I love to get carried away making adorable girly gifts and I had a lot of fun making these cute girly things for a friend of mine who is expecting a baby girl!  I think a new mom can't have enough burp rags and bibs (maybe girls are different, but both of my boys were super messy from day 1).

The elastic headband was perfect to hold everything together:

Here is my sewing tutorial for making the burp cloths and bib:

And I used this tutorial from "The Woman Who Couldn't Sit Still" to learn how to make the twisted fabric flowers-- and they are so fun to make that I think I will be making a lot!!

I used hi-temp hot glue to hold the flowers together and to attach the flowers and buttons to the bib and headband.  They should hold up fine if washed in cold water.

Here are a few more girly gifts I have enjoyed making:

Little Helper Apron

Sweet Lil Owl Onesie

  1. What a cute idea. I have no grandkids yet – still waiting. But this would make a great gift. Thanks for sharing.

I would love to hear what you have to say!
